House Rules

1. General:
1. Poets must have at least three original competition ready poems.
2. Props or costumes are not allowed.
2. Time:
1. Poems are limited to three minutes.
2. Your cumulative score will be deducted one point for every 30 seconds of overage.
3. Judging:
1. Judging is done by five "celebrity" judges.
2. Poems are judged on writing and performance.
3. Judges use a  ten point scale (including decimal points.) 
4. Highest and lowest scores are dropped.
5. Remaining sores are added and any penalties are deducted resulting in your score.
4. Rounds:
1. First round: all compete.
2. Second round: all compete (in reverse order.)
3. Final Round: Top two compete.
